About
In 1948, Bob Taylor created Taylor Fence Company. The company was designed to market and install REALOCK® chain link fencing manufactured by the local Pueblo CF&I steel mill. Building a reputable household name for over 24 years, Bob Taylor looked to retire from the fencing business. In 1972, Melvin and Bonnie Jurgens purchased Taylor Fence Company and incorporated the business as Jurgens, Inc. continuing to serve Colorado and build quality fences. The business has been built with high ethical standards, values, honesty and respect. Professionalism, workmanship, and quality materials were the main part of their philosophy. Establishing Taylor Fence well into the Colorado community.
A shared passion of Mel and Bonnie was Taylor Fence Company. They had a deep commitment to the legacy they had built. They were ethical, intelligent, ambitious, hard-working people. Mel and Bonnie truly cared for the employees and their families. Planning ahead and setting up a retirement program as well as offering health care insurance with the knowledge that quality employees produce quality work. Bonnie worked in the office for many years alongside Mel, and in 1982 they opened a branch in Grand Junction, Colorado with their son Todd Jurgens as the administrator. Building a strong second location with the same standards, the GJ branch expanded into having a chain link manufacturing division where they continue to produce chain link to this day. Mel & Bonnie retired and moved to Grand Junction in 1998. Todd has since filled the position of President of Jurgens, Inc. dba Taylor Fence Company.
